Mini Workshop goodies: Mermaid Planner Set up, Decorative Pocket Cards, and a Lovely Layout...

Hello there everyone! It is Andrea here and I want to share with you some lovely things that I made for the most recent Mini-Workshop, using the "Storytime" collection! I love the "Storytime" collection! The mermaids just make me so happy! It was so much fun playing with "Storytime" to create these projects for the Mini-Workshop and our "fairytale membership" members! If you don't know about the Mini-workshops that we do each month, I will share a little about that now!

The Mini-Workshop is a sort of mini-class made up of video tutorials of a few different projects. I do one for each collection that comes out each month. There have been two so far and soon we will be doing one for the "Sweet!" collection (which is our newest collection/kit).

The Mini-Workshops are available to our "fairytale membership" members. The "fairytale membership" is a kind of club within the club. It is our premium membership. And for these members, we offer several special things in addition to their subscriptions. They get these "mini-workshops" and they also get other special benefits like inspirational emails, and discounts and deals on classes and events. We also have a special Facebook group that is just for our "fairytale membership" members only. It is a different, exclusive group, separate from our The Fairytale Club Facebook Group, which is public and for all our members and fans.

Now, I just want to quickly talk about the projects that I worked on for the last Mini-Workshop. I had fun working on these. I love them all, the layout, the pocket cards, the planner stuff. I enjoyed working with the rose cut-files for my layout and using the different pretty colorful roses cut from the "Storytime" patterns to create a kind of garland from one corner of the page to the opposite one.

I loved working in my planner with the "Storytime" kit. I love the mermaids! I decided to set up the front of my planner with goodies from the kit that I tucked in, and also to use a sketch from the inspirational email to create a little planner "mini-layout" which served as a divider for my planner.

The decorative pocket cards were probably my favorite thing to work on though! They are cute quote cards and they serve as great pieces of inspiration as they each have a special quote on them! I had fun with the shaker ones especially, like the unicorn one that says "think happy thoughts" on the front and the mermaid one that has "I know who I am...I'm a mermaid" written out on the back.

Ice cream&Shades

Good morning everyone!! I'm so happy to be playing with the July "Sweet" kit!

It s so bright and full of summer fun ephemera! I'm sharing a layout with you this morning of two of my little girls enjoying some yummy ice cream on a nice summer day!

I had a hard time choosing what papers to use, I just wanted to use them all, but I finally decided to cut a strip of the paper that looks like it has the paint strokes. I placed that across the center and then moved on to backing my photo. I used one of my planner inserts and backed the photo and then the water color paper too. I fussy cut that cute little ice cream cone out and then used the left over for behind my photo too.

I added the ice cream cone to the right of the photo and then broke into the adorable ephemera pack, I pulled out the little ice cream cones, a ticket and some little bitty hearts and started placing them around the layout.

I had thought I would leave it with an all white background, but decided I wanted more color, and to be honest I wanted to use more of the pretty papers from the kit, lol. I added some of the die cut words to the layout, the yummy just fit! And after I cut it down and placed it on the teal bow paper I added a little ticket, sticker and a heart.

I pulled out a wood button from last months kit and added it and then grabbed some gold alphas from my stash and added my title, Ice cream&Shades.

This months kit has so many pretty papers, I mean the patterns are amazing! The colors are so beautiful too! If you havent went and checked out the new kit yet, or the past ones, make sure to go look at them!!

Hi

Good morning everyone! Sarah here this morning to share with you a layout I made of me and my goofy mom. She was sick on Mothers Day, but shes my mom and I wanted to see her, so we went down and spent the day with my parents and I got her to play on snapchat with me.

I loved the paper that said you are here and hello there and I wanted to use it as a background, so I pulled that one. Then I grabbed the too cute unicorn paper and cut a triangle from it for my bottom left corner and placed it there.

I had used an app on my phone and made a photo strip out of some of the pictures and printed them out. I added some of the light teal polk adoted paper behind my pictures, then added the top of one of the tags from the ephemera pack. I pulled a few more pieces from the ephemera pack, like the adorable flamingo and the gold leaves and tucked them in there and there.

I added some of the cute wood buttons and sequins, I didnt follow the rule of 3's on this layout and I had a bit of a hard time because of that, but in the end I thought it turned out pretty good! After tucking things in here and there on the layout and adding my little bit of bling, with the sequins, I added the die cut Hi from the ephemera pack, for my title.

I thought I was done, but I wanted a  little more color on the script paper, but I didnt want to add splatters to this layout. So I grabbed my water colors and started coloring in some of the location symbols. That was it for this layout for me. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope to see what you do with this kit too!!

Soaking up the Sun

Hey everyone ! It's Mindi with you today. I am happy to be sharing a pocket page project with you. The June Storytime and it's pretty color scheme were perfect for all my summery/beach photos. In this blog post I am going to be sharing a trip that we took down to the beach. Here is what my page looks like.

Let's start by talking by my title card/journaling card. I started out with this pink Mermaid. I wanted to get some details down about our day. I went back and forth between printing it onto patterned paper or white. I went with white. Then once I had it all printed out I wanted a little bit more color. I added a strip of blue paper on the top and then a strip of that fun washi tape from Cocoa Daisy. I thought it matched real well. Once I had that part done. I finished it off with the letter M and then some sequence.

This first card is more journaling about our day. I used a die cut piece and cut out the word Fun from the sun + fun tag. I added a word strip onto the photo and an enamel dot.

Along with playing the water the kids love to play in the sand. They like to dig holes and sand castles. Typical kids right ?!!

Here is what the other corner of the page looks like. This was a fun time when all the kids and a couple of the big kids jumped down the sand dunes. I spelled out the word jump with the letter stickers and added a sequence.

Another look at the top corner. I took a photo of my feet and the waves coming in.

This fun filler card came about when I was looking through the stack of patterened papers. I though this mermaid one would be great. I added the gold leaf and and few other embellishments. I also added a photo of my son and father in law playing in the waves next to the filler card.

Alright, that is all the sharing I have for today. Thanks for coming and I hope that you have found some inspiration.

A Summer Adventure by the Sea

Hello there, fellow fairytale lovers! Carolee here again with another project, this time in my traveler's notebook. I use traveler's notebooks to make small layouts that are fun for me to look back on. I'll use the smaller size to try new techniques or just for smaller stories. This time, I used it to play around with some patterned papers from the Storytime kit.

For this one, I pulled out an old die from Lawn Fawn to cut out the polaroid-like picture frames. From there, I printed pictures from a recent afternoon out for Andrea's birthday. It'd been a very long time since I'd been in the ocean so it was nice to catch up with her and play a bit in the water. Did we accidently wear the same dress that day? Yes. Did we care? Heck no!

After layering the pictures, it was time to add little bits of ephemera. Because it's a TN, I don't like to go crazy with 3D elements, but I couldn't resist a few sequins. I think I'd put sequins on toast if I could! I decorated the photos with smaller ephemera pieces as well as some of the phrase stickers. I layered the camera with a couple of phrases, one from the ephemera pack and one from the cut apart sheet. Lastly, just a bit of journaling printed out and matted on some of the paper with the pink cameras on it to match the big camera below it.

I had so much fun making this layout! I love the look of the bigger original Polaroid photos but stick to Instax for the most part. Using the die and some fun photo editing, I can get a great look alike a lot easier! I hope you liked the layout. Are you a TN fan? Do you use it just for planning or do you like to keep a scrapbook insert like I do? If you're a mini-scrapper like me, try it out with your Storytime kit. The summer vibes are great for a trip to the beach, pool or really any fun little activity you do!

July's "Sweet!" Kit Reveal: Part 3 (Planner Dividers)

Hello there everyone! It is time for part 3 of the "Sweet!" reveal!!! So today I will be sharing with you all the Planner Dividers for our upcoming "Sweet!" collection/kit! Yaaaay! It is such a fun and summery collection! And so much in this kit is my favorite! Especially in these planner dividers! I mean, just look at all these gorgeous, vibrant colors and all the super cute-ness!!! And yes...those are calendar pages that you are getting now too in addition to the awesome and cute decorative planner dividers...hurrrah!!!!!!

If you know me, you know already, of course, that the Rainbow Unicorn Planner divider is my favorite!!!! She is just so beautiful! I think she knows it too! :-)

I love the ice-cream cone one too! It just makes me happy! It also really makes me want some ice-cream! And I think it just screams summertime!!!

Oh, and speaking of sweets, how darn cute is that cotton-candy girl with the little bow and the polka dots?! I love her! She is just smirking and has no clue I think that she is probably going to get eaten! Hahahahaha!

I think the "I am me and that's ok!" is another favorite of mine. It goes with one of the main themes of the "Sweet!" collection, which is -- being yourself and being okay with yourself!

I am loving the rainbow watercolor divider that says "Hello Summer"! It feels so fresh and just reminds me of a beautiful summer day outside!

That fabulous, and oh so cool, summertime gal with the "xo-xo" shades is definitely 100% herself and happy to be "one of a kind" ! She is so great! I had fun designing her! She has this very "pop" kind of look...kinda reminds me of artwork from the 80's! You can tell, she is killin it this summer!

And The quote divider that says: "sumertime = good friends, great food, sunshine, sea breeze, could I have some more please?!" is way cute! And it is totally what I will be saying all summer long!

I think the pink sunglasses divider is definitely perfect for Summertime! I love the cute pattern in the background too that looks like rainbow sprinkles or confetti or something! Just screams summer beach/pool party to me!

Oh, and the "Sun" divider also screams "it's time for summer"...don't you think? And just makes me want to go out and have a swim and play in the sunshine!

There are so many dividers in this kit that I love! They are all so cute and they all just make me feel like lying in the sunshine, by the beach, having fun with some sweets and a rainbow unicorn to chat with!!!

Oh, and I am so excited that we are doing something a bit different this time with our planner dividers -- they now include calendar pages too! Yaaay!

So you get those now too, to use and plan your hearts out! You get the month overview calendar pages and also the weekly calendar pages! [Note: I left off the dates and left the calendar month open so that you can fill that information in and use the blank calendar pages for anytime and any month you want!]

And how cool is this ledger that you get too? So cool that it says "Hello Summer" up in the corner! Would be great to use to list out your Summer Bucket list!

Alright, well I hope you enjoyed part 3 of our "Sweet!" reveal! Yaaaay! I love this collection/kit and I cannot wait to start playing with it! It is just so perfect for Summertime...but also for any bright, happy time, really! Now, I must go and find me some ice-cream...and a unicorn...excuse me... :-) Oh, and remember to live your life as a fairytale and stay tuned for the post that shows the "Sweet!" collection/kit in its entirety with all the fairytale inspiration revealed too! See you later!

My Story Layout

Hi Everyone! It's Andrea here today and I want to share with you a fun layout that I did using the "Storytime" collection! Yay!!! I love the Storytime kit! It is such a beautiful collection of pretty papers and embellishments that is so lovely to work with and feel very dreamy! I wanted my layout to feel very dreamy so it just works perfectly!

So for this layout, I wanted to create something about my life and my story right now -- specifically about how I "live my life as a fairytale".  At the top, you can see that motto written out and paper-clipped to the page along with an ephemera piece from the kit that says "summer magic" and a little piece of pink unicorn patterned paper. And then the title of "My Story" is spelled out using one of the ephemera word script pieces and also the gorgeous gold-foiled alphabet chipboard stickers that come in the kit to spell out "my".

The story I am expressing in this layout, is basically a look at my outlook right now. It has been quite difficult lately with my health and all the pain, but at the same time, I refuse to let it break me or stop me from dreaming and believing! I maintain my positive outlook and continue to "live my life as a fairytale" and believe in a brighter tomorrow! I think I express these ideas through different items on the page... For example, I used the travel tickets from the patterned paper and fussy cut those tickets out and spread them across the side of my page. Each ticket is to a different fairytale place (like "under the sea" from The Little Mermaid, "Motonui" from Moana, "Never-Neverland" from Peter Pan, etc), I think they help express how I am still a dreamer despite the pain...that I escape from the pain and constantly being stuck in bed through my imagination and creativity! I may often be stuck in one place, but in my heart I have traveled to "Never-Neverland". I am stuck in pain but am also in a beautiful, enchanted world, because I focus on all the beauty in life and I laugh with my loved ones and am playful and silly, and I write and read and draw and paint and craft and create beautiful things...I see and experience a world of wonder! :-)

At the bottom of the page, you see scallops of patterned paper that I layered on top of each other. One of the patterns says "you are here" on it. I wanted to put that there and then have the different fairytale tickets flowing up off of it with all the pretty sequins and hearts and other little goodies flowing up to the top of the page, to show that even though I am here...stuck inside my house so much of the time, that I am also living in a beautiful world of love and laughter and beauty that is like a magical, fairytale world. I am rooted here and yet, I float and fly on beautiful dreams and ideas! It may seem like a silly thing, but I think it is true and it is just the kind of person I am.

In the picture you can see me holding up a divider (from the kit actually), that says "I'm really a mermaid". And I will be speaking on that sentiment more later, in an upcoming project that I am starting called "the mermaid project". In short, I consider myself to be a girl who is really a mermaid...because in the original story by Hans Christian Anderson, The Little Mermaid, she is always in pain...she is has been transformed into a human and the cost was that her new legs would always hurt and when she walked it felt like she was walking on glass. For this reason, I have always felt that way...that the pain is because I am in human form...but really I am a magical creature...a mermaid. I am stuck in the pain in my body, but my heart and my mind live in a world of beauty and magic and that is who I really am!

I hope that you are inspired by this layout and please stay tuned to hear about my upcoming project, "the mermaid project" which I will be detailing more soon here on the blog and on my YouTube channel! Have a good day and remember to "live your life as a fairytale"!
