Hello, everyone!!! It is me, Andrea Bethke, and, along with my hubby, Ryan, we are so very excited to share with all of you our newest collection for The Fairytale Club -- "I'm In Wonderland!" You probably already saw our recent sneak peak, but today, we get to share with you the full reveal! Yaaaaaay! I absolutely love this collection!!! It is inspired by one of my favorite classic fairytales, "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll and also by one of my fave Disney animated movies, "Alice in Wonderland."
I worked so very hard on this collection, through a lot of personal struggles that have come this year...with my health and other things...well, you can read more about that in the sneak peek, actually, if you like. But, what I would like to say now is just that I am extremely proud of this collection because I think, in a way, it reflects my own real life story these past few months while making this collection and both the challenges I faced and the wonder that I have discovered and created! I found myself going through a journey much like Alice...she was falling down a rabbit hole and lost in the craziness of a strange world turned upside down, but she also found herself admiring and appreciating the wonders that surrounded her. In the midst of all the fear and confusion, the tears and the struggles, she also found a bit of fun despite the strange and scary circumstances, and, eventually, she found her way back home, too! So, having said that, I really hope you all enjoy this collection! It has a lot of my heart in it!
Alright, now that I have given a little introduction to the collection, let's start looking at all the goodies! First, let's take a look at all of the amazing and beautiful 12x12 patterned papers that are in "I'm In Wonderland!". For this collection I wanted to use a really bright and happy color scheme to reflect that joy and whimsy that is found in Wonderland! Wonderland is really a place of wonder and so the colors I chose really needed to be vibrant and fun and magical to reflect that. I decided to go with a kind of rainbow-like color palette, with pinks, purples, yellows, reds, some teal-y kind of greens, and tons of beautiful shades of blue. I wanted blue to play a dominant role in the collection so as to be a reflection of Alice herself, going through Wonderland.
The patterns in this collection are very cool and also reflect the whimsical and magical feeling of Wonderland. I like to do a combination in all of my collections of both more simple and versatile patterns, but also more big and bold and super on theme patterns so as to give you all some fun mixing and matching options. There are some really great kooky patterns in "I'm In Wonderland!", inspired by Alice's story in this crazy world, which is filled with nonsensical people and things.
Let's take a look at this first pattern, which is called "All In The Golden Afternoon." It is inspired by the talking flowers that Alice encounters in Wonderland and by the song that they sing to Alice in the Disney version of the tale. This pattern is very big and bright and kooky. It is a fun and silly take on the kind of big bold flower patterns that we often see in scrapbooking patterns, but with a fun little twist! Those aren't just ordinary flowers in there! On the back, we have a much subtler pattern -- a sweet and versatile little black and white pattern. So you have this nice balance, see? Perfect for any papercrafting project!
Another great pattern in the collection is called "Have Some More Tea," and it has a beautiful black and white tea cup pattern on the front. And on the back, there is a super pretty pink and black little floral pattern that has a nice vintage feel to it. Both these patterns I think are so gorgeous! And what is cool is that you can really play up that tea cup pattern by adding some bold colors of your own to it. I think it would look so cool with some watercolors added to it perhaps, or just as is, with it's classic black and white beauty.
One of my favorite patterns in the collection is called "I'm In Wonderland!", just like the collection, and it is so cute and cool! I love the modern feel of the pattern! It is very fun and fresh and it encapsulates the general feeling of the collection -- which is one of whimsy, silliness, strangeness and imagination! There are fun words and phrases, mixed with cool images...some are big and bold, some are small and subtle. All are fabulous and this pattern definitely makes a statement! You can use it as a whole, or cut it up into parts if you like. Either way, it is definitely a show stopper and a must-have piece! And on the back there is a very versatile and vibrant rainbow striped patter, which just complements the front (and really the whole collection) so well. Love both sides!!!
The next pattern, called "Curiouser and Curiouser," has got lots of cookies all over it, each one with a special message to the viewer...they each say "Eat Me" and they are each filled with the magic to make you grow larger. It is certainly difficult to resist a good cookie, and I think you will find this pattern just as sweet and enticing as its subject matter! On the other side of the patterned paper we have a lovely little lavender print with flowers making a sort of intricate, lace like pattern. It is certainly sweet too!
Next we have a pattern named "Down the Rabbit Hole," and that is certainly what is depicted on the page. Alice is falling, falling, falling down into Wonderland, and it is a very strange and disconcerting fall. Subsequently, I wanted the pattern to sort of reflect that feeling of falling. I decided to do a kind of geometric where it looks like the different shapes are falling from the top to the bottom, along with Alice...and a few other items such as tea cups, and a hat, and a doorknob...wait, is that a cat's head?!!!...and such a large grin!...oh my!!! On the back I went with a simple and modern pattern which I think is way cute. It is some black and white hearts with a large diagonal of a kind of minty color. Would be perfect for the background of your layout, I think. Love it!
And here is a patterned paper I made called, "We're All Mad Here, Dear." I love that name! On this pattern we have a combination of different characters and important objects from Wonderland. There is Alice herself, of course, but also the Queen of Hearts, in her lovely red dress, looking regal indeed! See how Alice curtsies in her presence! There are a few other crazy characters on the page as well...such as Cheshire, of course, but also the doorknob, the talking flowers, and the dormouse. And there also seems to be some distinct items like that bottle that says "Drink Me" on it, the cup of tea, and I am pretty sure that hat belongs to the Mad Hatter himself! On the other side of the page, there is a very pretty little blue floral pattern which I love and which would really work for any papercrafting project you might have!
Alright, next we have a pattern called, "This Way, NO, That Way," and it is pointing in all kinds of directions! When you are lost you really don't know which way to go, and neither does Alice! There are all these cute pastel arrows pointing every which way and saying to go in various directions, but which is correct?... Well, no matter what way you go with using this pattern, I think whatever you make will be super cute! On the other side is a vintage-feeling diamond pattern in a very lovely pink and red.
Now we come to the cut-apart sheets in "I'm In Wonderland!" I love cut-apart sheets because of how useful they are and how much you really get out of them. Such great bang for your buck! On our first cut-apart sheet, named "Hello, I'm Alice," we have a mixture of cut-aparts in various shapes and sizes. There are some way cute, little, 2x2, square pieces -- I especially love the Cheshire Cat face 2x2 and the "always my way" heart 2x2. The 2x2 pink and blue teacup one is also adorable! And of course, there are a few fun 3x4's like the surprise-faced Alice one...which is a favorite of mine! I also love the "Drink Me" tag, the "curiouser and curiouser" label, the "let's go to Wonderland" rainbow piece, and, of course, the "down that rabbit hole" cut-apart, which is just too cute for words! On the back there is a cool, modern, and intricate red and white pattern that is kind of reminiscent of the Queen's roses.
Our second cut-apart sheet is called "My World is a Wonderland." It is all 3x4's, and it is fabulous! I love Alice, of course, and Cheshire, but I also really love the Doorknob, the Dormouse, the Ace card, and the heart that says "My World is a Wonderland" on it. Oh, and the swirly quote card in lavender that says "We Are All Mad Here" is also really cool! On the back of the page is a simple but versatile monochromatic, blue on blue harlequin diamond pattern. It matches so well with everything and really has a nice and classic Alice in Wonderland kind of vibe to it. Love it!
I love all of these patterns in this collection so much, and as you can see, they are all so amazing and cute! And they are very clearly themed to Wonderland and all it's whimsy and charm on one side but also very versatile and simple and multi-functional on the other. And every patterned page and each side is just so lovely....well, I just think you may end up wanting to get two of each. I know I do! :-)
Alright, now that we have gone over all of the amazing 12x12 patterned pages in "I'm In Wonderland!", let's take a look at the embellishments in the collection. There are some really great embellies in this collection which I am super excited for you all to get and use! I can't wait to see what you do with them! We have some new goodies and some old and popular classics...so let's get started and take a look at what you will be getting in your kit!
So first we have our classic ephemera pack. This is always a favorite embellishment here at The Fairytale Club. I love our ephemera packs and clearly so do you guys as they are always very popular! And this is one of our best ephemera packs ever! In this pack we have some super adorable pieces such as the cute teacups, the sweet bread-and-butter-flies, and also some beautiful talking flowers! Plus we have Alice, of course, the Queen, Cheshire and much more! But I think my absolute favorite piece is a little polaroid of Alice sitting on a mushroom in Wonderland...way cute!!!
Next we have our awesome variety pack. We have done the variety pack before, but it is still a fairly new embellishment, and I have to say it is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! In our variety packs we have a variety of things...and it's always a little different, for each collection. This time, in this collection, we have some traditional cardstock ephemera pieces (very different than the ones in the ephemera pack, though, of course) including pieces that are great words like "crazy" and "Wonderland," and also some frames which are super duper cool and perfect for putting pics in. There are also vellum pieces which I love, especially the vellum teacups with the little hearts in the middle! And finally, we have my favorite pieces in the pack, which are the silver metallic foil ephemera pieces! Yaaaay! This is our first time doing ephemera pieces with silver metallic details like this, and I love it! We have teacups, of course, which are gorgeous with the silver detailing! And there are also other lovely pieces like a little heart and bow and the "I'm In Wonderland!" script piece which is just way, way cute!!!
Our next embellishment in the collection is a really awesome sticker sheet! The stickers on it are absolutely adorable! We have these cool stickers that have great black outlines on them and bright, fun colors. They just pop! I love especially the arrows and the hearts! And the little words and phrase stickers like "don't lets be silly" and "such nonsense" and "Wonderland" with the little teacup on it are just so cute!
Another embellishment in the "I'm In Wonderland!" collection is our flair button pack. I love flair buttons! They just add a lot of depth and interest to any project. I love to add them to layouts or make them into decorative paperclips for my planners, travelers notebooks, and mini albums. They are so, so cute and just make your projects pop! I love the little arrow one in the pack and the teacup one and the Cheshire one...and well all of them really!
And finally, I am so excited to announce that we are doing a really cool new embellishment with this collection -- a set of silver glitter foam alpha stickers! Yaaaay! I am super duper excited for these! I can't wait to play with them and for you all to get them and see what you create with them! The font is designed by me and in addition to all the fun letters, there are some really cute little shapes here and there too, such as a little cat face (like Cheshire's) and some sweet little hearts. I just love the silver and I love the glitter...love it all...so wonderful!
Yaaaaay for all the cute and wondrous "I'm In Wonderland!" embellishments, right?!!! So cute! Okay, now let's take a look at the planner pages that come in the collection. As you probably already know, these pages come in both a 6 x 8.25 and a 4 x 7 size (so A5 and Personal planner sizes). You get to choose which size you would like. And even if you aren’t a planner girl, you should really still get these pages in one of the two size options, because they are gorgeous and there are tons of cute things you can do with them! We have customers who use them for mini album pages, mixed into their traditional 12x12 layout scrapbooking, as decorative covers for cards, as decorations for their house (they look super cute in a frame on the wall and you can easily do a whole gallery wall with them, mixed in with framed pics, etc). I have seen banners made with them, I have seen them used to make little notebooks...really, all kinds of things...including, of course, traditional decorative planner pages, dashboards, divider pages in your planner, planner pocket pages, etc! Now, having said that, let's take a look at the planner pages in "I'm In Wonderland!", which are some of my favorite that we have ever done for any collection!
Our first planner page is this super cute one, which is definitely my FAVE! Across the top of the page are the words, "I'm In Wonderland!" And on the page we have Alice in the middle of a very strange day! She is in a nonsensical land, where everything is extremely odd! She finds herself shrunken down to barely a few inches tall and she is sitting on a mushroom, having a strange conversation with a very grumpy Caterpillar...some nearby Petunias are listening and there are butterflies....wait, no, "bread-and-butter-flies" flying overhead... How very peculiar and wonder-full everything is! "I'm In Wonderland!" she thinks to herself...surely that must be what is happening here, for only in a wonder-land would such strange and magical things be real! On the back of the page is a cool and colorful quote that suggests that sometimes one must go down a rabbit-hole in order to get to Wonderland...so true!
Alright, next we have a planner page with our dear sweet Alice on it. She is lovely as ever, of course, lifting her dress to curtsy politely, as one does...even in the midst of a place that grows ever "curiouser and curiouser!" And on the back of the page is a super cute and useful yellow ledger/notebook paper (perfect for journaling in your planner or to use as the background of a mini-layout perhaps)!
Here we have a planner page with the ever mysterious, ever elusive, ever grinning Cheshire Cat! This cat is certainly crazy, and so it makes sense that the quote on the page should say "We're all mad!" on it...because clearly that is true here in Wonderland! And on the back we have a lot of different arrow signs....one says to go "this way," the other to go "that way," one to go "over here" and the other "over there"...the signs can't seem to make up their mind as to which way is correct, and Alice certainly doesn't know...
On the next planner page we see a super cute and useful Calendar...in pink! It is a Wonderful Wonderland Calendar which you can use to plan out your days or remember and document fun events and things. Yaaaay! And on the other side we have a cool quote page which has a very beautiful assortment of talking flowers on it...they are in full bloom this time of year, you know!
Our next planner page I am simply mad about! On one side is the quote "we are all mad here" and on the other we have the quite mad Queen of hearts. She is so beautiful! But, yes, mad for sure! And here in Wonderland, we must remember that it is "always [her] way." So don't upset her, please! You may just lose your head!
And here we have a planner page where a shocked Alice is clearly falling, falling, falling down a rabbit hole and into Wonderland. So super cute! I love it! And on the other side we have a very surprised but adorable doorknob whose face suggests that he is very concerned that Alice, being her normal size, will not fit through to get into Wonderland, although the words over his face say "Let's Go To Wonderland"...and yes, please, let’s! This page is definitely one of my favorites in the collection!
On this planner page we have the Mad Hatter's Hat. I love the Hatter's Hat! The Hatter is so very stylish and that Hat of his… well, it definitely makes a statement! On the other side there is the Hatter's dear friend, the March Hare. The March Hare is holding his friend the Dormouse in a stack of teacups and they are both very excited to "have some more tea".
The next planner page is one of my favorites also, and it has the cutest little Dormouse on one side with a few very cute teacups and a lovely pink background. So sweet! And on the back of the planner page is a bunch of "Eat Me" cookies...also quite sweet...definitely wish I could pull them off the page and eat them, just as they suggest!
And finally, we have another absolute favorite planner page of mine which has Alice on it, framed and beautiful! She is happy, and I think she has finally found her way back home from Wonderland...and she has some very strange stories to tell...maybe she will tell you about her adventures sometime...over a cup of tea, perhaps...? And on the other side is a simple blue notebook ledger paper...perfect for writing about your own adventures!
