Hi, everyone!!! I'm super excited to share with you today the full reveal of our newest collection, "Spellbound"! Yay!!! I am absolutely in love with this new Halloween collection! As many of you know, Halloween-time is my favorite time of year! I love the magic and whimsy and creativity of this holiday!!! To me, Halloween is all about letting out your childlike sense of wonder and seeing all the magical possibility in this world! I know 2020 has been a crazy year for all of us, but I hope that you all are getting into the spooky fun and magic of make believe that is Halloween! And I hope that you are using the inspiration of this imaginative season to be super crafty and creative! Hopefully this collection specifically inspires that kind of sweet whimsy and wonder that we felt as children at Halloween-time and that we all hopefully still feel at this time of year! And I hope that it makes you smile and gets you making! Alright now, let's take a look at the wonder that is "Spellbound" -- which by the way, is inspired by tons of spooky fairytale goodness that I love - like The Addams Family, Hocus Pocus, The Haunted Mansion and more! And I went with a really sweet “pasteloween” vibe mixed with traditional orange, black, and white for a fun, fresh take on a Halloween color scheme! I really hope you love this collection as much as I do, and that it casts its magic on you so that you are in fact, "Spellbound" by it all!
Let's check out the pattern paper in the collection.
First, we have "Candy Corn." I love this paper! It's a really cute, painted, sort of ombre page with yellow, peach, orange, and pink. And on the back is a super cute, little, candy corn pattern.
This next page is called "Spellbound," just like the collection, and it is super gorgeous! I love these collage papers that we do in each of the collection, now. They're perfect to fussy cut or leave as a whole. On the back is a great, black and white buffalo print that is simple, yet versatile.
Next, we have "Pretty Potions." On the front is a cute, potion pattern, with various bottles of magical goodies in pretty, pastel colors. And on the back we have a really cool, retro geometric in pink and blue.
Here we have "Another Glorious Fall." This is a really pretty, fall floral, with a mixture of really lovely flowers and fall leaves and acorns and spider webs and such. On the back we have a sweet, yellow pattern with three broomsticks (a la three sister witches that you might know).
Then we have "Grim, Grinning Ghosts." This pattern has three grim and grinning, but adorable, little ghosties on an aqua blue background. And on the back there is a pretty, multi-colored, star pattern that is definitely one of my favorites.
Next we have "My Spooky Friends." This paper, as you can see, has various spooktacular people on it, including Francine Stein, Vivian Vampita, and, of course, Pastel Pumpkin-Spice. On the back is a really cool, thin, black and white stripe.
Next is "Black Cats Are Better." This is a lovely, pink pattern, with adorable, little, black kitties all over it. And on the back is a super duper, loopy pattern that has the word "eek" spelled out on it (with many extra e's...lol)!
And next we have the two cutapart sheets that are in the collection. The first cutapart sheet is called, "On Wednesdays We Wear Black." This cutapart sheet is super cute and includes 3x4's, 2x2's, and various, other-sized pieces as well. These are all really cute and fun to play with. I especially like the little, "Eek!", ghost card. It makes me smile. And then on the back is a cool, moon and star pattern that is very fun and fresh.
The next cutapart sheet is called, " The Haunted Marketplace." I absolutely love this cutapart sheet as well. It includes cute, little, vintage-style cards with spooky peeps on them, lots of great labels and tickets, and other awesome cutapart ephemera pieces, as well. On the back is a spooky cute, white spiderweb against a pretty, mint background.
So, that’s the principal set of patterned papers in “Spellbound” that come with the Scrapbook Kit or the Happily Ever After Kit. Let’s now take a look at the embellishments in the collection. First, we have the ephemera pack, which, as usual, is my personal favorite! I love all the hearts and bats, but I’m especially drawn to those awesome frames and the cute, potion bottles. Of course, I can’t wait to use the pumpkins, the witch hats, the cute ghostie, the cauldron, the candy….you get the idea.
Next, let’s take a look at this collection’s acrylic embellishment pack, which has become pretty much a staple here at The Fairytale Club. This pack includes three different shapes - bat, pumpkin, and star - in each of four different colors - black, orange, pink, and turquoise. These pieces make a wonderful addition to the collection!
Next, we have the flair buttons for “Spellbound,” and I think these are some of my favorites that we’ve ever done. The colors are amazing, and the graphics are just so cute. As always, I can’t wait to attach these to paperclips and use them as decorative paperclips. I’m definitely going to have quite a few of these in my October Daily! My favorites are the pumpkin, the ghost, and the boo!
Now, typically, at this point I would be telling you about the variety pack for this collection, but instead we decided to take a page, so to speak, out of the “I’m in Wonderland!” playbook and make a set of foam stickers, this time out of black glitter foam instead of silver. And instead of alphas, this pack has a truly spooky collection of words and shapes to fit the Halloween season! I love how this turned out so much!
Finally, the last embellishment I want to tell you about is our sticker sheet for this collection, which comes as part of the Planner and Happily Ever After kits, but not the Scrapbook kit. I love how the colors really pop on this sticker sheet, from the orange background to the simple black “October” word sticker, to the lovely yellow behind the orange words “happy haunts.” And of course, we had to include stickers of a cat and a bat! I love the two banners, too!
The last item that’s included in every kit is, of course, our specialty paper and matching sequins pack for this collection. This paper is called “Home, Sweet, Haunted Home,” and I love love love how it turned out. Leave it to Pastel Pumpkin-Spice to throw an absolutely smashing Halloween party! Just don’t mind the giant snake in the crawl space below the attic. Or the ghosts that like to hang around outside the roof. You should probably bring a friend with you, just in case. Well, that’s the front of this specialty paper, and on the back we have an awesome pink polka dot with a peachy-orange background.
Next, let's take a look at the "planner pages" that come in the collection. These come in either an A5 (6” x 8 1/4”) size or a personal (4 1/8” x 7 3/16”) size. These, of course, can be used as traditional planner pages, but also as decorative mini album pages, framed art pieces, and more.
The first planner page here has three super cute ghosts on the front. I love how each ghost has a distinct personality! And on the back is a paraphrased quote from one of my favorite movies to watch during Halloween-time, The Addams Family.
I love this next planner page! We did this storybook type of page in our last collection, “My Magical World,” and I loved it so much I wanted to do a version of it for “Spellbound,” too! So the front has the haunted house with a bit of storybook text underneath describing what’s happening, and on the back is a really cool skull and wings illustration with text describing Halloween, itself.
I love this next planner page, too! On the front is a cute witch casting a “magic” spell, and on the back is a super cute Halloween cat.
This next planner page is certainly one of the most colorful of the collection, with a cute, vintage-style, cat trick-or-treating pail on the front and an ode to Fall on the back.
Our next planner page has a simple, blank, Halloween calendar layout on the front, while the back features a list of why I love Halloween so very much!
Our last planner page is the second of our storybook featurettes for this collection. The front has a vignette from the haunted house party shown in the other storybook planner page, with a more detailed description of what Halloween-time means to our heroine, Pastel Pumpkin-Spice. And on the back is a colorful sentiment inspired by The Addams Family.
The "scrapbook" kit and the "happily ever after" kit both come with the first 9 double sided patterned papers that I showed earlier in this blog post. However, as with “My Magical World,” for this collection we also decided to do a set of super cute additional "add on" papers! There is a set of 4 double sided add on papers that you can get individually or all-together.
The first add-on paper is called, “That Hat is Wicked,” and I absolutely love it! The front has a pattern of colorful witch’s hats with various words on them, like “spellbound,” “wicked,” and “magic.” And on the back is an equally colorful pattern featuring the word “Boo!” on an orange background.
Next we have a paper called “Haunted Portraits,” which features a pattern of the four beautiful frames from this collection - orange, yellow, pink, and mint. And on the back is a delightfully whimsical pattern of jack 0’ lanterns and stars.
Our next add-on paper is another one of my favorites. On the front is has a pattern featuring my oh-so-cute, vintage, cat, trick or treating pail, a lovely orange bow, and candy, of course. And on the back is an awesome ledger where the lines are a series of alternating Halloween-colored dots!
Our final patterned paper is an awesome, multi-colored, calendar-type page on the front and a beautiful, classic, orange and black pattern of bats on the back.
We have one more add-on for this collection. We started doing these collection-related mini album covers recently, and I’m just really excited about them! This one has a clear acrylic front cover with a wooden back cover that is painted with very Burton-esque black and white stripes.
Alright, that is "Spellbound"! It is like a whimsical “pastelloween” dream, don't you think?!!! I love the childlike wonder of it all, and I hope you do, too! You can subscribe to get your kit, or order here now! Spooky virtual hugs and magical virtual kisses to you all!!!!
